This medium-light roasted coffee is DIRECTLY TRADED with our friends, The Garcias, in Marcala, Honduras. The Lenca farmers are descendants of the indigenous Lenca Tribe. Each harvest is handled with care as to produce the best quality Arabica coffee beans. The tradition of coffee goes back to 1915 when Great-Grandfather, Felipe Garcia pioneered the cultivation of coffee in the region of Marcala. Felipe produced one of the finest coffees in the region and traded coffees to the European markets. However, when World War II broke out, the coffee industry in the country fell into a depression. With the fourth generation of Garcias comes a new drive and desire to spread Lenca Farm grown coffee to coffee lovers in a new market, The Mid-Atlantic of the USA.
